# BCCX PMS Currency Specifications

At the core of the BCCX Precious Metals Monetary System (PMS) are the precious metals backed currencies that enable the entire system to operate.

**The BCCX PMS currencies will be based on a custom COSMOS based app chain.**

COSMOS offers excellent scalability and throughput in thousands of transactions per second to comfortably facilitate the BCCX vision.

This section covers the various currencies and the metal backing them.
